Ciao ciao ciao ciao.
Come state?

We saw a ton of miracles this week.  I think it’s because I got pooped on by a pigeon at the beginning of the week.  It brings good luck to get pooped on by a pigeon according to Italians.

Zone conference was fantastic.  We talked a lot about teaching with the Spirit and really thinking about how to help the people that we teach. I loved it!  I love love love that no matter how long you have been in the mission, you can still learn how to do things better.  It’s great.  It’s like...life.  I don’t think I will know everything when I’m 90 years old either. We just keep learning.

As soon as we got back from zone conference I had to go renew my permesso, which is the document that lets me stay in the country without getting booted out.  It was only good for a year so I have to get another one....even though I go home in like 3 months.  Patience.  The actual appointment isn’t until next week.  I’m dreading waiting in that place for another five hours.

This week we got to see Abigail which was great because we hadn’t seen her in a while.  She asked us to help her with Geometry. DUHN DUHN DUHN. Remember my geometry days?  Cioe staying after class and having Mr.Klos help me with math until like 5:00 every day.  Ah man I had to work so hard in that class.  Anyway I tried to help her but they do their formulas weird here and it’s in a different language and stuff so I didn’t really get anywhere.  We got to teach her two lessons though and the spirit was really strong so that was a plus.

Also this week an investigator called us who we hadn’t seen in ages!!!!!!  She was like, "Sorelle, come over for pranzo." Her and her two daughters were all home because school was canceled that day (here they cancel school when it rains hard....I mean, it did rain super hard that day but I can’t imagine canceling school for rain.  That’d be sweet.) Anyway, that was super fun and we had a yummy pranzo and taught them a good lesson.  WE figured out some of their problems with the church and are gonna keep working on helping them.  They are Spanish and cool.

We taught a family this week that has a 10 year old daughter who’s a member of the church.  They have other children also (10, 8, 2 year old, and newborn).  CRAZY.  It reminded me of fun times in the Brunson family, when everything was just NUTS and we all were crazy children.  I remember babysitting during those crazy times.  I would give anything to go back to those times for a day.  It was so fun.  So yeah we taught them all the plan of salvation and it was cool.  It was really awesome to teach a family that lesson.

A funny story.  One day this week it was raining but then it stopped so we were like, "oh nice."  Then all of the sudden out of NOWHERE it starts POURING again.  Around the corner comes this really, really large man on a really, really small scooter getting DRENCHED by the rain and screaming, "managia managia" which means "dang it dang it dang it!" haha It was one of the funnier things I’ve ever seen.

Also this week the tram stopped working because a tree fell on the tracks.  We were waiting at the stop when we heard the news that the tram wasn’t running and a lady by us freaked out.  She looked at us and assertively said, "Alright, you two come with me.  We are going to go take a taxi together, and you’re gonna help me pay for it."  We started following her, but the whole time we were like "um no, we don’t want to do this."  But Italians are so assertive sometimes!  Thank goodness Sorella Embley was there and finally she was like, "Lady, we don’t want a taxi!"  If I would have been alone I would have just taken the taxi haha.  It was so funny that we just ended up following her, even though we had no desire to take a taxi.

We had some really good lessons with some less active members this week!  It’s been cool to have great relationships with the members here.  I’ve never worked so much with members, and never received so many referrals!  It’s so fun.  We were sitting, talking to a woman in our ward and she brought up tithing and how difficult it was for her to pay because it was already hard enough for her to make ends meet.  Sorella Embley bore her testimony about tithing and the spirit was SO STRONG and at the end she said, "Sorelle, you’re right, God has commanded me to do this, and He will help me."  So cool.  Plus another less active came to all three hours of church which she hasn’t done since we got here.  It was sweet.

The biggest miracle of the week was Lousia. She is a member that just moved here from Rome with her boyfriend.  She has been inactive for 5 years, but decided it’s time to come back to church. She called us and said, "Sorelle, come help me get back to church."  YES.  She is so cute.  She is from the Philippines which is cool because that is where Abigail is from and one of our other members!!!  WE ARE SO STOKED.  I love people from the Philippines.  If I go on a second mission I’m totally down to go there.  We are excited to work with Louisa and she also wants us to teach the gospel to her boyfriend and his family, who they live with.  YOU GUYS IT’S AWESOME.

It was a good solid week of working.  I am so happy!!!!! The church is so true!!!!!!   This week we are headed to Syracusa to do a scambio.  Should be a ton of fun.

Have a great week.
Vi voglio bene
Sorella Brunson
