Hey hey hey ciao ciao!

Can you guys believe I'm in the town of Saint Nicolas for Christmas?  I'm the luckiest missionary in the whole wide world. Bari really is sweeeet for Christmas time. There are lights everyone and everyone is happy and it's wonderful. I'm so happy I get another Christmas in Italy. Can't believe how fast Christmas is coming up!!!!!!!! We went ice skating today for pday. I was actually kind of proud of myself.  I didn't do too bad!  Maybe my coordination has improved as a blessing from my mission.

Before I start this email I gotta give a huge shout out to Elder Brunson!  It's his birthday this week. Seems like it's been forever since I've seen that kid. Probably ‘cause it has been forever.  I'm excited to see him in like a year and a half...haha. Ty you're the best!

This week was way fun. I kind of did a bad job of writing down what happened this week. It was all a blur. Sorella Tapia left this Thursday!  We spent the first half of the week saluting everyone and it was so fun.  Oh MAN I love these people. I'm so thankful for my transfer...ok not really a transfer.  Like two weeks with Sorella Tapia.  It was fantastic.  I miss her.  Sorella Thorpe is AWESOME.  She was in my zone in Sicily and it was way fun.  We have been laughing soooooo hard ever since she showed up. Also just so many strange things happen every day. This country is sooooo strange and I love it.

Oh side note. Before I forget....do you guys know that I am coming home February second and not the third?  The office wanted me to tell you that. Got jipped one day. Dang.

Back to my week.  So Sorella Thorpe came Thursday.  She's from Florida and went to BYU I before the mission.  She has a great sense of humor, and is a half red head.  She loves the movie "Arthur's Christmas" which means she really just appreciates good humor.  We've been having a party. Let me tell you guys a funny story. Than a cool story.

The funny story. So I got asked to give a talk this week. It was soooo weird because I've never given a talk in Italy. I was like, "but I'm going to talk for 15 minutes and no one is going to interrupt me?" Hahha.  Italians don't think interrupting is rude so they do it ALL the time.  Which I'm used to. Anyway, so I give this bomb talk about keeping the Sabbath day holy.  The funny part was that instead of saying "the Ten Commandments” I accidentally said "the twelve commandments."  I have no idea why.  This old man member comes up to me after and is like, "Sorella, I didn't know they had added two new commandments."  HUGE face palm.

Side note. Are you guys watching Hallmark movies for Christmas?  You better be. I have a request. Save a really really cheesy and heartwarming hallmark movie on the DVR for me. Then we can all watch it together and cry like a bunch of sissies.  Back to mission life.

We had an AWESOME lesson this week with a lady who is related to a missionary in the mission. She has been around the church for 25 years but hasn't ever read the Book of Mormon. We taught her the restoration and at the end of the lesson she said, "I think this book must be the key to happiness.  I really want to read it." So she opened it up for the first time in 25 years since her sister joined the church. So cool.

We have been teaching this cute little lady named Delia.  She's Peruvian and speaks 70% in Spanish but I understand! So weird.  The Spanish I learned in high school is coming back to me. The other day I was speaking in Italian and I could think of the word in SPANISH but not in Italian.  Me and Sorella Thorpe were talking about it and decided we got the "learn one language and get one free" deal.  It's so sweet how similar Spanish and Italian are.  Anyway, Delia loves church and comes every week. So hopefully we can get her a baptism date soon.

We've been having fun giving out book of Mormons to members this week to give away as Christmas gifts. Most of them have been accepting the challenge.  Yippie!  Sorella Rackham is an interior designer so she made these little cute packages. I don't know what I am going to do without a companion when I get home. I've been making my companions do everything creative for me for a year and a half....

I'm really not sure what else happened. We just have been working hard!  I'm so happy!  This Friday is zone conference so that will be fun.  I should get my packages too mom and grandma :) also this week we are going to an old folks home. We're going to sing "Feliz navidad " and buy sombreros.  I think.  So that should be a blast.

Ohhhhhh how I love missionary work. I hope you are all doing well.  Don't forget to invite people to church and try and talk about Jesus Christ during this period of time. Lots of people will listen!   Don't be too busy to share the message of Christ.

Love you all!
Sorella Brunson
