Hey fam, friends, amici parenti and everyone else!!!!                                           Monday, July 6, 2015

So....
Crazy crazy crazy things have happened. Real crazy.

We got transfer calls on Saturday. I was totally ready for President to say, "alrighty, another six weeks in Cagliari" and I was totally stoked about that.  BUT he said, "pack your bags, you're going to Messina and you're training."  Whatttttttttttttt.

Yup. I’m leaving Cagliari and I'm going to Messina in Sicily!!!!!  And I'm gonna have a greenie!  Ahhhhhhhhh.  This has meant super, duper craziness for me to get things ready to leave because I have to write down a whole bunch of stuff for the new sisters. Like information about all the people we are teaching and about all the members and also how to get everywhere. The new sisters coming to Cagliari are Sorella Robertson (my MTC companion) and a greenie! (because my comp Sorella Vasilachi went home, remember?) So I'm going to Messina without knowing anything about the city.  With a new missionary.  Whoop doggie it's going to be a huge adventure.  I'm super excited.  The plan is that Sorella Bray and I will leave Sardegna on Wednesday night at 7:00 PM. Then I will stay in Rome for the night and then the next morning pick up my greenie and we take a super long train ride down to Sicily.  It's way, way sad to leave everyone here, especially because I really didn't expect it at all.  I've been here since January, and it really just feels a little like home.  It's crazy to say goodbye to all these people I love. But life will be super good. I'm so excited to get a new missionary and to help her out.  But for all of you who know about my sense of direction, you'll understand that you're going to get a lot of "I got lost" stories in the next couple of weeks.  Hehe.  Speriamo bene that my new greenie is really good at finding her way.  I'm serious, I can just imagine me walking around the city the second day and trying to remember how to get home.  Hehe.  I'll be like "uhhh i think it was this way..." It's gonna be so fun!  Sono contenta.

Other news. Sorella Vasilachi left this morning. It was tough to say goodbye. It's hard to know that we live so far away from each other.  But with all the technology we have these days, it will be a lot easier.  This past week was fun, we just spent it saying goodbye to everyone.  We had some huge dinners and pranzos. I was dying. Super yummy though (like always).

Gaia and Maura are having a tough time with us all leaving. They were crying the whole time during church Sunday. Ahhh I will miss them.

This morning was the best p-day ever!  Sorella Bray and I got to play tennis. It was so unbelievably hot but totally worth it.  Picking up that racquet and hitting again was the best feeling ever ever ever.  We were seriously giddy. We played for two hours. There was literally no one else there because no one else is crazy enough.  Afterwards, we went to buy water and the lady literally looked at me like I had a disease or something because my face was so red.  Ah it was so fantastic.  By the end we were hitting pretty well.  Dad, get ready to be destroyed when I get back!

I'm not sure what else to say about this week except that I'm leaving a piece of my heart in Sardegna. I KNOW it sounds so cheesy. But it's true.

A cool thing happened on Sunday.  All of the missionaries were able to bear their testimonies. We had a bunch of investigators there and so did the Anziani. The church was super full. We all bore our testimonies and the spirit was super, duper strong. Then Vescavo got up right after we finished and talked about how inspiring it was, and how the members should be more involved in missionary work. It was so so so cool to see and feel the ward have the desire to help us and to work with us to bring more souls unto Christ. I've been praying for this ward for six months, and it was so good to see their desire to help.  Even though it's sad to leave, I really feel like I have done my best here. I feel like I've done all I can.  I'm so thankful for the help of the Lord and for all of the blessings and miracles I saw while I was serving here. I remember in the MTC my teacher saying, "You will get to a point on your mission where you look back and think, 'how could I have ever lived my life without the people that I have met here?"  This is so true.  Life wouldn't be the same without these people. I have learned so much in the six months I've been here in Cagliari.

I'm so thankful for this gospel. It's true! I have taught around 130 lessons with Sorella Vasilachi in the past two months, but every time I teach a lesson, I feel the same Spirit confirm to me that what I'm saying is true.  Sorry this email was "super missionary" but it's been a "super missionary" slash super reflective week as I leave my second city and think about going to Sicily.  I'M SO EXCITED.

See you next week in Messina

Vi voglio bene!
Sorella Brunson
