Hey all!                                                                                                 Monday, June 22, 2015

Whatssss up?  Super weird, but I’m totally writing this on my iPad.  I'm glad you guys had a good week and that the U.S. Open was sweet. And mom I'm glad you and Emma got to chill at home and read and have a "staycation."  Totally sounds like your jam. My headaches are fine, I haven't had one for a while but I'll let you know if they come back.  I can't believe that Tyler leaves in three weeks!!!!  That seriously blows my mind.  For reals. Ahhh. When does he go through the temple?

Anyway, this week was sway tight.  Right now we are driving back from THE COOLEST THINGS EVER.  We saw a "Nuraghe," which I know means like nothing to you.  But it was way shweet.  I know you guys probably don't want a whole history lesson for my email this week but here’s a few facts.  In the 1950’s a man named Giovanni  Lilliu was digging around Sardegna and came across these nuraghi (ancient edifices). They have been around since before Christ.  7,000 Nuragi have been found in Sardegna.  The Nuraghe that we saw was a huge tower, with three towers surrounding around it. The towers were used to protect the little houses inside a little village within the walls of the tower. They don’t know a lot about the Nuragic civilization.  They were a people of shepherds and peasants that lived in small communities throughout Sardinia for 8 centuries.  You guys should google them.  I'll send some pictures too.  It was literally the coolest thing though. You know how much I love history.  I was dying of happiness. It's the oldest thing that I've ever seen!  We are talking the Sardegnans that lived 100’s of years before Christ. Daaaah. A member took us and paid for the tour and everything. Farrell's maltesi is my hero of the mission.

Comunque this week was real good. We went up to Sassari for a scambio. The anziani took us in the car awesome. The Sorelle are the best, we had a blast.  I'm so excited because me and Sorella Bray are going to be companions for a whole week and guess what? She plays tennis!!!!!!!!!!  And in two pdays I'm going to play TENNIS!  In Sassari we did a Mostra.  We wrote a question in chalk on a sheet and then had people answer it.  A cool thing happened.  I was standing there and a saw this guy from far away walking. Not super far but kind of across a parking lot. I was like, "I need to go talk to that guy."  But then I thought, "no!  How weird is that to go chase after a guy across a parking lot.” But the thought came back so I followed it and half ran after this guy.  I bet it was a pretty funny sight.  Anyway, I approached him and said, "hey we are missionaries..." And he was like, "I'm sorry, but I don't have time right now to talk because I'm going to do some volunteer ambulance driving (here the ambulance drivers are volunteers haha) and I was like, "ok, can we exchange numbers so we can tell you more about our church" and he was like "yeah for sure." HOW COOL. I was glad I chased after him.  The same type of thing happened two other times this week.  I felt like I should talk to someone, the situation was kinda weird, but I did it anyway and it worked out super well. I'm super thankful for the Spirit. This really is the Lords work!!!!

On a different note, this week we were on a bus and someone started vomiting....we were trapped for like 20 min hahah. Che schifo.

Also I had a dream this week that Eminem was in a fire. He was trapped and he used the strength of God to get himself out of the fire. Then he found Mormon missionaries and decided to convert.  In my dream he was doing an interview and he was like, "yeah man, I know Joseph Smith was a prophet.  I read his experience. It's true" then he said he would only rap clean music from then on.  I was SO STOKED. Bummer that it was a dream hahahahha.

Also this week we were waiting for a bus and it said it wasn't coming for 20 min, which was gonna make us super late. I was stressing hard core. I said, "maybe we will get a magic bus" and then Sorella Vasilachi pointed behind me. I turned around and poof.  A completely unscheduled bus. Whoop doggie.  We hopped on and were right on time. Mirocoli

As far as the work is going, it's great!  We are still teaching Gaia’s friend Maura. She loves church and the Book of Mormon and everything! We are hoping that she will have a date for baptism soon!  Whoop whooo. Those two girls are seriously the cutest and I'm stoked for them.  Also we are teaching Racheles family now. And her mom is reading the Book of Mormon and coming to church! Other than that we have lots of investigators we are working with, just got to work a little more to really help them progress.  I love them all though.  And I love this city.  It's crazy that I've been here since January, Mama Mia!!!!  Hahahahha. Oh and our friend Rina who is 87 has been coming to church. Sooooo cute. She also is learning English.  It's the cutest thing ever when we try and teach her. Comunque we were at her house this week and she asked what we like to eat. I said cereal. There is a brand of
cereal here called museli that's super good.  So I wanted to say, "this morning I ate museli cereal" but instead I said, "sta mattina ho mangiato Mussolini" (this morning I ate Mussolini" ooooppss).

Oh I forgot to talk about how our investigators have the fattest cat I've ever seen named boing.  We love him, I'll send you guys a picture so you can appreciate him. I know my mom is probably freaking out right now because I've mentioned cats two weeks in a row. Haha. What can I say, I'm a cat lover.  There is no stopping me now.

Alright, a little spiritual thought and then I'm gonna go. Sorry it's kinda short this week but we took a lot of time to go see all those super sweet things so yeah. I wish I had time to tell, you guys about every lesson that I have in the mission field. Teaching people is such a neat experience. I love the Spirit I get to feel everyday as I testify of truths.  It never gets old to tell someone that they have a Heavenly Father who loves them. This week one thing I realized is how important it is to look at people and see them for who they CAN be, not necessarily for who they are. I was thinking about some of the people we teach who really struggle to keep commitments. They like what they learn but they don't act.  However I know it's important to remember to look at the potential of others. I was thinking about how much I hope (and I know he does) that Heavenly Father looks at my potential, and not how I am now. And I want to do that for others!

The church is true.  Even Eminem knows it.  I love you all and hope you have a good great greater than great week.

Vi voglio bene
Sorella Brunson
