CIAO A TUTTI!!!! Monday, June 01, 2015
Thanks for all the pics this week, the family looks
fantastic. I’m glad the funeral went alright, and that everyone was able
to have fun and remember Grandpa Hodson. He was a great man. I'll
never forget him telling Tyler to, "take off your bonnet son" when he
had a hat on at the breakfast table. Too funny.
Ty, congrats in golf!! I’m glad
it all went well and you got to play in state. That's the best! Emma, you looked way
cute at your Disney performance. Nice job! Mom I can’t believe you almost won a CAR at the golf tournament! AHHH that would have been so so so so so
cool. but vah bene vah bene.
So as for me, life here in Sardegna is just moving right
along. I’m starting the first week of my 7th transfer. YOU GUYS IT’S
GOING TOO FAST. Sorella Vasliachi and I are having a blast. This
week was a little slower investigator wise....some of them are having a lot of
trouble progressing. BUT the cool, cool
thing is GAIA! She had her baptismal interview and is getting baptized this
Saturday. I can’t believe how blessed I am to be able to see her faith
and the changes she's made in her life! She's
only 13 and LOVES to read the Book of Mormon. She loves going to church
and learning. She keeps every handout she gets at church so she can re-read
and study it. AH you guys, she's the best. She's so ready to be baptized.
It’s so cool that she gets to be baptized
now and have a great relationship with Heavenly Father to help her through the
"teen years." We all know that
those aren’t really a walk in the park, eh? So we are so excited for her
baptism! It’s really cool because not many missionaries get the chance of
finding, teaching, and baptizing. It’s cool that I got to be with Gaia for the
entire journey. It’s amazing to see how she's changed and to learn from
her example. I’M SO BLESSED.
Also this week I got my hair cut. SO WEIRD. I felt like a
new person. Diciamo che. There isn’t a ton of time for hair in the
mission. So it was weird to feel so
"pampered" haha.
This week we visited an old woman who needs company. Once a transfer or so we try and visit her and
make sure she is doing ok. This time when we visited her she told us
a story that she wrote about a flamingo that she found in her backyard that could
talk to her. She's the best story-teller ever. There are so many
interesting people here. I can’t wait to tell all the stories when I get
home.
A less active called us and said she didn’t have water in her
house so we went with her to get the water. It was totally African style. We grabbed the water and hauled it all to her
house. It was SO HEAVY. It made us
giggle.
Other than that I'm not super sure what else happened....I really
need to do a better job of writing down funny stories....’cause they happen all
the time and I write them in my journal but I forget to send them...
OH YEAH. Another cute story.
We are teaching this 45 year old woman and her aunt is super old (like
90) and wants to learn English! So we
taught her a little this week. Cutest thing I've ever seen in my life, I’m not
even joking. She kept reading the English and saying, "no, but you wrote
it wrong" because you don’t speak English like you read it. ahhh sooooo
funny. Rinna. We call her, "carina rinna" (carina means cute).
We are working with some cool potentials and referrals that we
hope to see this week. I'll update you
on them next week! We'll see how it
goes.
Anyway the work of the Lord is fantastic. I’m so
happy! I can’t WAIT for Saturday and to prepare for the baptism this
week. Hopefully we can get a lot of
people there and everyone can feel that awesome baptismal spirit. AH it’s going
to be fantastic!
The Church is soooooo true. I realize it more every
day. I’m thankful for this time and that I have 8 months more to continue
learning and growing. Nothings better than doing the Lord’s will.
Love,
Sorella Brunson
