Hey Everyone!                                                                                      Monday, April 13, 2015

Wow.  This week flew.  Mama mia!  It’s already Monday again?  How does that HAPPEN?!!?!?!?!
So.....since everyone wants to know…. I’m staying here in Cagliari! Sorella Mazzarella is going to Roma.  My new companion will be Sorella Vasylaki (no idea how to spell it haha).  I’ve actually met her several times, she was in Rome when I was in Ladispoli!  She’s from Moldovia, which is kind of the COOLEST THING EVER.  I’m stoked to ask her like a million questions about her country.  I’m a nerd. Also she’s awesome!  She’s a SUPA hard worker and speaks Italian like a boss, which is supppaaa awesome.  She also speaks English and Russian.  I’m excited!  She’s almost done with her mission so she is has a well of knowledge.  It will be stellar.  She also makes good food, like reeallly good food.  So that could be bad slash great. haha. vediamo.  I’m gonna miss Sorella Mazzarella.  We’ve had a PARTY together and worked hard.  But good news is mission conference is in 15 days so I will see her then! yippie!

As for this week...it was great!  The bummer was I had the flu on Friday and Saturday and that was gross gross gross.  I was so achy. bleeeehhhhh.  I slept, and slept and slept which sounds nice but it wasn’t really.  haha. Being sick as a missionary is the absolute worst thing ever.  This morning I woke up feeling better finally!!!!!  Still a little gross but its allll gooooddddddd.

Miracles though this week! Miracles upon miracles upon miracles.  First off we got a call from an unknown number.  I answered and the lady was like, "Hey, I haven’t been to church in like 20 years.  But I’ve been thinking lately and I want to come back. Can you guys come and help me do that?"  WOW.  So we went to her house. She’s the daughter of this super old lady that we visited a while ago.  That’s how she got our number.  She started talking to us about how she decided it was time to come back to the church.  It was so cool!  She watched all of general conference and said she loved it.  As she was talking about her journey and all of the hard things she has seen in her life I was just amazed at her courage and desire to get back on the right path.  My eyes were welling up with tears listening to her sincere desire to change and be better.  The atonement is there for all of us!  It doesn’t matter how long we’ve been messing up, or how bad we’ve messed up.  We can use the atonement.  MIRACLES HAPPEN!

Now...the lesson for all of us....
How did she end up getting back to church?
1)  She had the desire.
2)  (this one is reeeeally important) She had a friend.  This friend doesn’t live in Cagliari, but she said that they have been in contact through thick and thin, all 20 years she has been outside of the church.  This friend NEVER gave up on her and was ALWAYS there for her.  This friend invited her to watch conference and sent her Book of Mormon verses all the time through Facebook.  Let’s be that friend for someone!  It makes a difference, even if you don’t see it right away.

Sorry to preach hahaha. But how COOL is that seriously?  So now we get to work with her and probably hopefully baptize her 11 year old daughter. YES YES YES YES YES.

Another miracle. This Sunday 5 people came to church that hadn’t been in forever!!!!!  All people we work with. So EXCITING. I almost freaked out.  All our work is for something! yaya.  I love helping people remember that Heavenly Father loves them. It’s the best.

Today on the agenda is bowling since it’s Sorella Mazzarella’s last pday.  I'll probably win, let’s be honest.

This week should be good, kinda crazy with transfers and stuff, but good the same.
As for investigators, Elisabetta said she wants to come to church this Sunday (she couldn’t last Sunday because her sister had a really important concert) but yeah she promised she is coming next week.  The rest are doing well.  There is a YSA activity this week and I think that Valentina will come. yay!  Rachele came to church yesterday....that girl sure comes to church a lot and does a lot of churchy things for someone who "doesn’t believe in God."  The anziani gave us a bunch of women to work with this week also which is stellar!

Missionary work is awesome! I can’t believe that I’ve been here for 8 MONTHS, the time has flown by, maybe not for you guys? haha. sorry ‘bout that.  But yeah, life is good, Italy is wonderful, Italians are great, and the Book of Mormon is true.

Happy birthday to John, Toni, Gavinn and Spencer.  You guys rock!

Have a grand ole week everyone.
Keep the faith.
Love,

Sorella Brunson
