Hi Everyone,                                                                 Monday, February 02, 2015

COME ON SEAHAWKS!!!! bleeehh.  Let’s just say I’m pretty thankful I didn’t have to watch that game. Yikeesssarooonnieee. Whateves though. Cause LIFE HERE IS SO GOOD.

This week was one of the most fantastic so far.  We worked our little tail ends off.  Let me just say that Sorella Mazz is the bestttt.  We have been having a grand ole time together. And MAMA MIA the miracles we saw this week!

This week we got some new investigators, and just had a fantastic week.  My Italian is just hip hopping right along.  Still have a way to go but I LOVE being able to communicate with people and feel like I actually have a personality.  It’s grand.  Some cool things that happened this week...

-I bought the first ring I have ever bought.  It’s really pretty.  Apparently it’s only made here or something.  It was cheap though.  I feel like such a GIRL these days.  Look what the mission has done to me.

-We were finding and super tired.  I said "good morning" to this random man on the street instead of "good evening" and apologized.  He gave us DOUGHNUTS.  whoo hoo (see picture)

-I was ringing a citofono (like the doorbell of apartments) and the thing got stuck!  So it was pretty much the same effect as someone’s doorbell getting stuck and just continuously ringing. hahahaha I finally fixed it and then we just ran away.  The lady was like "CHI E CHI E CHI E" which is like (WHO IS IT?!?!) ahhhh

-We are teaching this cool man who used to drive race cars! He showed us the pictures.  Is there a famous race in Monte Carlo or something?  He did that.

-I had a dream that I taught Miley Cyrus about the church and she was super receptive.

-We met this girl named Alex on the bus.  She was from England and had just moved to Italy.  She didn’t speak Italian.  She’s an English teacher.  We hoped off the bus but didn’t get to talk to her as much as we wanted and really wanted to see her again.  We prayed about it that night, then the next morning BOOM.  We were walking on the most RANDOM street ever.  Literally this tiny, tiny street and she just happened to be there.  How cool.  So we got to give her our info and tell her if she needs anything to call us. How cool.

To answer your questions....

You said in your letter you had two beds put together for a “queen” bed but the picture only showed one bed?
I literally KNEW that you were going to ask about that. I haven’t put them together yet cause some of the other Sorelle came down to stay at our house for a conference they had to do. hahha you are cute mom.

How does the grocery shopping, food etc. on the island compare to Rome?
IT’S SO EXPENSIVE and the fruit stands STINK here.  Soooo sad.  I miss how cheap the fruit was in Ladispoli, but alas, life goes on.

What is the weather like?
It’s rained for like 4 days in a row. bleeh. It’s colder than in Rome and I’m FREEEZING. haha but I just get all wrapped up in my scarf and leggings and coat.  Ohhh yeah, those people ended up giving me that coat so now I own it! yay!!!  I’ll use it the rest of my mission.

Are you still mainly using public transportation?
We use buses all the time. Totally all the time.  It’s weird for me but I love being able to talk to people on buses.  It’s a great way to talk to everyone.  I haven’t taken a train yet.  So ya, to get to the church and the center of the town we use buses, pretty much everywhere. It’s pretty easy to get lost but we are managing it ok.  It’s an adventure!
Just a wrap up, this week was really great.  I feel closer to Heavenly Father than ever before.  He is here to help us.  He knows us. He loves us.  Being in charge is kinda crazy, but the good thing is that HE is in charge more than I am.  Or else this whole thing would be kind of a disaster haha.  Sorry I say kinda the same stuff every week but like it’s true, every week haha.  Next week I am going to send a detailed list of the people we are working with. They are great and I love them!
I hope you all have a fantastic week.  Sorry about the Seahawks. There is always next year!
Love,

Sorella Brunson
