HELLOOOOOO yet again from the beautiful land of
Romeee, Monday, November
10, 2014
Last week I felt pretty spoiled. I said
to Sorella Marquis, "gosh, do we really have to go to Rome again?" We had to go for a conference. That’s
when you know you’re spoiled, when you are complaining about going to Rome.
Gotta start this letter right off with a shout out
to MY HOTTIE MOM WHOSE BIRTHDAY IS ON SUNDAY!!!!!!! AHHHHHHH. Mom,
you are the best. I was going to write you a huge note on how awesome you
are in this email but I sent you a letter instead. I think you’re going
to like it! It should come on Saturday. I’m serious, it’s kind of
the bomb. You might "read it and weep" though, ‘cause it’s
pretty tender and sweeeeettttttttt. Prepare.
Also a shout out to my sister Amanda who just
got her permit and is learning how to drive.
Watch out everyone, I’ll be praying for you all!
Well this week was.... you guessed it...awesome!
Wednesday there was supposed to be a huge flood. It didn’t actually happen. In some parts of Rome maybe but I never saw it. It just rained a lot. There was a "code red" so we were supposed to stay in our apartment. We didn’t go to a conference that was planned. I’m not sure why I told you that...it’s not that exciting. Maybe you saw something in the news about floods in Rome and were freaked out or something.
The highlight of this week was our lesson with
a new investigator Lucy. She is awesome. We taught her the first
lesson and these are some quotes from her.
"I know the Book of Mormon is true. That’s
why I came to this lesson."
"I am hungry and want to eat with
you"
"I think God is applauding me right
now"
So that shows you what kind of investigator she
is. Of the golden variety I would say. Literally the entire lesson
she just agreed with everything and pretty much said it was what she has been
looking for her whole life. We explained how there were prophets in the
past and that we believe there are prophets now and she was pretty much
rejoicing. Holla! Then she came to church two days later.
Speaking of church.....
We had....
5 investigators in church!
No I’m not lying.
I’m telling you, that’s pretty crazy. Even
having one is awesome. It was nuttsooo
crazy having them all there. It’s hard to make sure everyone is taken
care of. It’s like having baby triplets in church or something. I don’t
know how Brazilian missionaries do it. Anna, Paola, Idda, Lucy, and Lucy’s
daughter were all there. It was stupendous. Heavenly Father works
miracles, I’m telling you.
So ya, a lot of this week was just working with
our investigators who are progressing pretty well. We had an awesome
lesson with Domenica about the restoration. She really liked it and went
home and watched the entire Joseph Smith restoration movie. A member told
me that she posted it on Facebook and said that she felt it was true! How
cool.
Ohhh yeah, we don’t have water this morning.
hahaha. Goodness we don’t know where it went! All the sudden we just
turned on the sink and no water came out. And then we turned on the
shower but nothing turned on. Yikes. So we probably will have to
figure that out.
What is important is that this week we saw a
ton of people, and brought all of them closer to Jesus Christ. I’m
thankful that we have such a great message to tell people. This week
during a lesson with Anna and Paola they were asking me about the Quran and all
these questions about other religions. I just stopped and pretty much
said, "Look here, I love learning about other religions but I know that
the Book of Mormon is true. And that is what is important." (And don’t hate me but I may or may not have
lightly pounded the table for emphasis when I said that haha.)
The Book of Mormon is true. If you haven’t
read it today, read it! If you haven’t read it ever, read it!
I love you all so much! This work is
great.
Love,
Sorella Brunson
P.S. We went to the Vatican last week... I’ll
send pics. There is a picture in the Vatican of Jesus. He is
standing up to his ankles in the Jourdan River and John the Baptist is
sprinkling water on him.......
P.S.S. The other day I told a random person the
story of the first vision. Sorella Marquis was talking to someone
else. I walked up to him, brought up the church and then Book of Mormon. All of a sudden I was telling him the story
of the first vision. I think I might be a real life missionary.
