Here I
am! One week left in the MTC. Didn't I just get here yesterday?
Seriously though time has flown. I don't know Italian a ton, but
I'm SO EXCITED to get there and start teaching the people. Like freaking out.
Ok so I
HAVE TO tell you this story. Mom I know that you had a billion questions
and I promise I will answer all of them but seriously you're gonna wanna hear
this hahaha
This
week on Sunday we had a Mission Conference with everyone in the MT, instead of Preisthood
and Relief Society class. Our zone was in charge of the meetings on
Sunday so my companion got asked to say the prayer! She was super
nervous, and I don't blame her. I told people all week I was glad it was
her not me, and that I would rather speak in front of all those people than
say a prayer (I love praying haha it just stresses me out in front of that
many people for some reason). So we got there and we were listening to
the meeting. I was honestly having trouble concentrating, which was kinda
weird cause normally I totally love the meetings. So I said a little
prayer it my heart that Heavenly Father would help me "get in" the
meeting. Be careful what you wish for! President Nally was speaking
and he was the last talk. I was listening when all the sudden he said,
"And now we would like to briefly hear a one minute testimony from the
companion of sister Robertson concerning faith."
..........
All of a
sudden I realized that I was the companion of Sister Robertson!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAT?!?!?!! haha so I started blushing and stopped breathing for a
second. I walked up to the pulpit and I was SPEAKING TO 3,000
MISSIONARIES!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahhahahah crazy. I had no idea it was
coming. Luckily the Lord was on my side though, and the words I needed to
say just flowed. That morning I had been reading in the Bible...Luke
8:25. Christ asks the question, "Where is your faith?" So
I just talked about that and how if our Faith is in our Father in Heaven, we
can make it through. But if our faith is elsewhere than probably things
won't go too well. Then I sat down! haha what a crazy experience.
It was awesome though. I will probably NEVER pray to "get
into" a meeting again. :) Then for the rest of the day walking
around I kept hearing whispers like, "there's THAT girl." It
was kinda like being famous for a couple hours.
Ok now
to answer your questions:
I don't get to call
home at all. They JUST changed the rule. I'm sooooo sorry :(
heheeh just kidding
mom. I get to!!!! I will get a calling card from the MTC. I
don't know what "calling collect means" I think maybe that's when you
pay for it? I will just buy a calling card, they are cheap. Here are my
flight plans. They may help you know when I will call. But the time
differences and stuff really confuses me.
Lv: Salt Lake City,
UT- 11:25 PM
AR: Chicago/O Hare,
IL- 3:39 PM... I could and probably will call you there. But I have NO IDEA
whose time that is. Like 3:39 Chicago time? Or Salt Lake time? idk.
I will call many numbers though and make sure I get ahold of you.
LV: Chicago/O Hare,
IL- 5:10 PM
AR: London Heathrow,
England LHR 6:50 AM... again I have no idea whose time this is. I'm
guessing London's time? I might call here as well. It just depends because
our layover is kinda quick.
LV: London Heathrow,
England LHR- 8:20 AM
AR: Rome, Italy FC-
12:00 pm
So there it is!!
I'm sorry I don't know more about the timing and stuff. But if the
family can't be together I will just call several people or whatever.
Especially if the kids are at school, I might just call their cells.
Tell them to leave their phones on...especially the high schoolers, the
teachers will understand. Can you dear elder me their numbers?
Thanks!
I think sometimes
you assume that I know details that that I don't know hahahah. I don't
know anything about my VISA. No idea when I get it or what. haha.
We just signed some papers when we went to Salt Lake and they didn't tell
us anything else :)
After this we are
going to the book store and we have a list of things we are buying for Italy.
The water purifier is on the list! And I will use my Schwab card to
buy it. I'm really sorry I haven't used it yet, but it's tough cause I
don't have much time to go the bookstore. I really hope it works!!! ahhh
I'm sorry.
Thank you so much
for the package!!!! MY DISTRICT AND I LOVED THE COOKIES!!! I got
the package Monday. I got the notice I had a package Saturday night but
stuff closes at 2:00 so it was too late for me to get it. They were still delicious.
Thank you for the markers as well, life has been SO GOOD in the classroom
with the markers. My teachers were so stinking happy. I loved the
sock things, they are perfect. As well as everything else!
Seriously it was a stupendous package. We have been feasting.
THANK YOU!!!!
THANK YOU for your
endless work getting my medicine. I'm sorry I'm a pain in the rear even
when I'm not at home! I think you should definitely either give it
directly to the front desk, or to the doctor that works here. Whatever is
easier for Becca. DO NOT send it in the mail because there are really no
guarantees I would get it in time. The mail place is sketchy sometimes.
Becca is my favorite!
I will send stuff
home that I do not need to use through the Art City Medical Center? IF
that's good? Idk how else to do it.
I haven't heard
anything about ipads yet.
I'm not sure if
there is anything I need....honestly I am getting really sick of my clothes
already. Maybe like if there is a cheap downeast dress on sale? If it
fits Amanda it will fit me. Just something lightweight. I'll buy
stuff there though probably so that's fine if you don't have time.
I seriously don't
know anything else. I love the tick tacks!!!! Cause we can't chew gum
here. I would love some more pens also, I've lost a lot of pens.
People steal them from me I think. Other than that I think I'm set.
I'm thankful that I stressed about packing before I came, I have almost
everything that I need. Other Sisters are kinda in a world of hurt cause
they have 6,000 clothes and nothing else.
Ok..I pray I answered
all your questions..... I think that I did. Just to let you know it will
be a while before I write again. I don't know when our Pday is, probably
Monday. So ya. My mission president will send you something that
tells you I'm alive as well as where I am serving and who my companion is.
So that's good!!!!!
I'm so excited
GRANDPA AND GRANDMA ARE PUTTING IN THEIR PAPERS! Anyone reading this that’s
their age, GO ON A MISSION! It's the best thing you can do for your family.
I LOVE the senior missionaries.
How cute about
Emma's alarm clock. Sorry Kevin isn't feeling well. haha I'm sure
Amanda loved the cleaning talk. Did ty take the ACT yet? How did it go?
Maybe it's this Saturday? I am praying for him!
I'm gonna try and
write everyone handwritten letters today because I won't have time in
Italy!
YAY FOR BYU smashing
Texas!! I am excited to leave BYU, I hate being so close to it…yet not a part
of it.
Also people have
started calling me "Rule breaker Brunson" as a joke. They rap
it and I kinda half dance. It's funny. I loooove everyone here!
As for the pics you
wanted. I took some of them. I will try and take more but honestly don't
have tons of time/ don't always have my camera with me. I will try though
because I LOVE YOU MOM.
I seriously can't
wait to talk to all of you on the phone. yippie :)
Can someone tell
Beth to please dear elder me and tell me if she works here? I want to see her
before I leave if she does. I left a note for her at the dry cleaners but
Idk if she got it.
Ok, that's all I got
this week! Sorry this letter was kinda boring, lots of craziness with
leaving.
The Church is true!
That's why there are people here learning a million different languages and
working their tail ends off. We wouldn't do it just because we wanted to
have fun!! haha. Being a missionary is the best.
I LOVE YOU!
Ti voglio bene,
Sorella Brunson
